Food Bank
The Food Bank is located in the New Zion Christian Fellowship
Christchurch is a food collection point for the local Food Bank charity, along with other churches in Welwyn Garden City.
The Food Bank gives out about 500 items of food per week, to those in need in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield. The food you provide is given to those who really are in desperate need – for example those unable to work due to health problems, redundancy and those waiting for benefits to come through. The list below is a list of items that we distribute regularly. However, we are extremely grateful for any (non perishable items) to be donated. If you would like to visit the Food bank, please feel free to call in on a Wednesday morning (between 9am and 11am) and they will be happy to show you around. We are now providing eggs in the Food Parcels and we would really need some more empty egg boxes (the size that fit 6 eggs), as we buy in bulk, but need boxes to distribute to people in the food parcels. If you or any of your congregation are able to collect them on our behalf, we would be very grateful.
